Meditation Teacher Training in India
For thousands of years people have used meditation to move beyond the mind’s stress-inducing thoughts and emotional upsets into the peace and clarity of present moment awareness. The variety of meditation techniques, traditions, and technologies is nearly infinite, but the essence of meditation is singular: the cultivation of mindful awareness and expanded consciousness.
Meditation is the simple and direct practice of moment to moment mindfulness. Through careful and sustained observation, we experience the ever-changing flow of the mind/body process. With cultivated awareness, we are able to accept more openly the pleasure and pain, fear and joy, sadness and happiness that inevitably occur in life. Meditation classes offer a wide variety of methods to bring peace and equanimity to the mind. Some of the meditation techniques taught include breath and full body awareness meditations, chakra meditations, cleansing meditations such as trataka, Osho meditations, silent meditation, guided visualization, mantra meditations, object concentration and many more. The practice of meditation brings deep internal awareness, quiets the fluctuations of the mind, and brings sustainable peace to the practitioner. As insight into ourselves expands, we develop greater equanimity and peace in the face of change. Wisdom and compassion increasingly become the guiding principles in our lives. Students are welcome to bring their own cushions. This class is suitable for all levels. Blankets are provided.
How is Meditation Helpful?
New research is showing that meditation rewire the brain. A landmark study conducted by Massachusetts General Hospital found that as little as eight weeks of meditation not only helped people feel calmer but also produced changes in various areas of the brain, including growth in the areas associated with memory, empathy, sense of self, and stress.
At the Center we believe that to receive the full benefits of meditation, it’s best to be fully immersed and learn from a qualified teacher. Since meditation is one of the most valuable foundation tools that we teach, we offer instruction at every workshop, program, and event we offer.
Meals are vegetarian, served in our open-air dining room and enjoyed in the company of the other students. Many friendships are formed over the conversations and laughter that last long after the food is served. Long after the yoga retreat you will feel lighter inside.
Our teachers and staff are friendly, helpful and there to make your yoga retreat holiday a comfortable and fruitful one. One of the favorite activities of our guests are the visits and tours to nearby holy places.
Many students come to our retreat for it's spiritual location, away from the modern lifestyle. Our goal is to tailor our retreat to suit our guests needs as much as possible.
